School Leadership Team (SLT)

The School Leadership Team (SLT) plays a significant role in creating a structure for school-based decision making and shaping the path to a collaborative school culture. It is a vehicle for developing school-based educational policies and ensuring that resources are aligned to implement those policies. In a collaborative manner, the School Leadership Team assists in the evaluation and assessment of a school’s educational programs and their effect on student achievement.

The team is made up of an equal number of school representatives and parent members consisting of the principal, the Parent Association president, the UFT Chapter Leader, a DC 37 representative, three teachers, and five additional parents. The team addresses a wide range of topics, such as development of the school's Bylaws, discussion of the school's Comprehensive Education Plan and Goals, the NYC Reading Initiative, the School Budget, and the school's Instructional Focus amongst other items.
